Mary McKenna

Mary McKenna is a Partner in the Corporate Department specialising in financial services law. She has been a member of the Firm’s Investment Funds Group since 1993, advising leading international financial institutions on the establishment, operation and regulation of all types of investment funds including UCITS, Non-UCITS, hedge funds, closed-ended funds and other specialised fund products. In addition to advising the promoters and investment managers to such funds, she also advises other fund services providers including administrators, custodians and prime brokers.

Mary has extensive experience in the establishment and launch of all types of investment funds including structured fund products (both open and closed-ended) and is also very active in advising on the listing of both Irish and international funds on the Irish Stock Exchange, with particular expertise on funds seeking approval and listing under the prospectus directive.

She also advises on all aspects of the regulation of financial services activities in Ireland and on Irish securities law.

She has advised many international clients on the establishment of their investment fund platforms in Ireland including HSBC, Merrill Lynch, Legal & General, Collins Stewart, Commerzbank, Scottish Widows and has recently advised HSBC on the establishment of its UCITS fund of hedge funds umbrella platform.

Mary is a member of the Law Society of Ireland and the Law Society of England and Wales.
