A&L Goodbody has a dedicated knowledge team within the Firm which is led by Paula Reid, a Partner * and Jack O’Farrell who is a consultant to the Firm's Corporate Department. Jack was a senior partner in the Firm for over 18 years. Our Knowledge team supports the Firm’s lawyers and clients to ensure we deliver solution-focused legal advice of the highest quality.
Our team won the award for 'Best Management of Knowledge' by the Managing Partners Forum for three successive years, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
There are currently six lawyers on the team:

In addition, there is a Knowledge Content Manager; a Director and an Assistant Director of Training; two information officers (based in the Firm’s knowledge centre) and two paralegals.
The Knowledge team has responsibility for ensuring that the Firm’s lawyers are up to date on legal developments and in particular on the business impact of legal changes for clients. The team also has responsibility for creating top quality knowledge products, such as precedents, practice notes, checklists and other high quality knowhow material. It plays a key role in ensuring that the Firm’s lawyers have access to the accumulated expertise gained from the involvement of our lawyers in high profile transactions over many years. In this respect the Knowledge team is involved in developing systems for capturing and retrieving the Firm’s intellectual capital and ensuring that its expertise is shared across the Firm as a whole.
The Knowledge team is also happy to provide know how support to clients in the form of legal updates and also consulting and advisory services to clients interested in developing their own knowledge management systems.
