Dr John Cahir is a Partner in the Firm’s IP & Technology Group. His practice covers both contentious and non-contentious aspects of intellectual property, information technology, data protection and media law.

John advises clients across a wide range of industry sectors on their IP and technology law requirements. He has acted on some of the highest profile technology disputes to come before the Irish courts as well as on the leading transactions. He acts for many of the multinational corporations that have established their European operations in Ireland and he also advises a wide spectrum of domestic clients.

John is chairman of the Irish Copyright Association (the Irish section of ALAI) and is the treasurer of the Irish branch of AIPPI. He is an occasional lecturer on University College Dublin’s LLM programme and on the Law Society of Ireland’s diploma courses. He is a regular speaker at conferences in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the United States and is widely published in both trade and academic journals.
